109,318 soccer fans filled Michigan Stadium to watch Manchester United and Real Madrid

A preseason friendly between Real Madrid and Manchester United filled the biggest stadium in the United States, as 109,318 fans packed the Big House Saturday. The previous attendance record for a soccer game held in the United States is 101,799, set in 1984 at the Rose Bowl for an Olympic game between Brazil in France. The official capacity of Michigan Stadium is 109,901.
