Real Madrid confirm signing of James Rodriguez from AS Monaco

Real Madrid have announced the signing of AS Monaco starlet James Rodriguez for a fee rumoured to be around €85m, the club’s official website has announced.
The 23-year-old had a stellar World Cup campaign, winning the Golden Boot with six goals to his name, and is the second signing made by the Champions League winner this season after their signing of Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos was recently confirmed by the club last week. He had passed the medical at Madrid on Tuesday morning, and agreed to a six-year deal with the Whites.
Rodriguez’s brilliant performance at the World Cup helped him get a nomination for UEFA’s Best Player in Europe award which will be presented on 28th August in Monaco.
